Pere Marquette Lodge in Grafton, Illinois

A short drive across the river from St. Louis, where I grew up, Pere Marquette Lodge is a popular overnight trip destination in a picturesque state park for people who want to escape into nature without needing to camp. The historic lodge was built by the Civilian Conservation Corp in the 1930's and was beautifully constructed with local timber and limestone.
